In John 14, the chapter begins with Jesus advising the disciples to not let their hearts be troubled, and to trust in God and also in Him, Jesus Christ (John 14:1). How much do you actually trust God? Does this affect how you follow Jesus Christ?
As the chapter continues, Jesus begins to explain how if we love Him, we would obey His commandments. Not only will God, and Christ come make a home with us, but the Holy Spirit will be with us and together, the holy trinity will not abandon us.
Conversely, those who do not love Christ will end up not obeying Jesus (John 14:24). This leads us to an interesting idea about what it means to love Jesus. To love God, to love Jesus Christ are not merely words. It comes with the action of obedience.
In reviewing my actions, I am humbled and can feel guilty that they are at times not reflective of my love and trust for God. There is room for improvement. I can say that I love God, but true love is demonstrated through actions.
