“Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautiful as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”
- Luke 12:27-28
In Luke 12, Jesus addresses people's worry about things in their everyday lives. He speaks to how often we are preoccupied worrying about whether or not we have enough to eat, and having enough clothes to wear. He uses ravens to exemplify how God takes care of the ravens and that we are far more valuable to God than the ravens.
While it is important that we work hard and live a fruitful life, it is also essential that we do not lose sight of God and the purpose of which He has put us on earth for. Have faith that God will take care of you and know that if we spend less time being obsessive over things that we can trust God for, we will be able to live a more meaningful life. Remember that the end goal is the Kingdom of heaven, not the earthly things that will disappear.
Look to how God tends to the ravens and the lilies, and know that He will take care of you.
Reflection: What are your worries in life right now? Pray and give your worries to God, and know that you will be taken care of.
